- A laptop, tablet, or desktop with a camera. A phone works but is harder for young children
- A reasonably steady internet connection
- A quiet-ish room. It does not need to be silent or tidy
- For young children, an adult nearby for at least part of the session

Where telehealth genuinely works well
- Early language and late talkers, because the parent is present and coached directly
- Articulation, because the camera gives a closer view of the mouth than sitting side by side
- Language and literacy work for school-age children
- Adult work of nearly every kind
- Families anywhere the nearest clinic has a waitlist, which is most places
Where it does not
We would rather say this plainly than sell around it. Telehealth is a poor fit for feeding and swallowing therapy, for assessments needing hands-on equipment, and for some children with significant attention or behavioral needs who cannot yet stay with a screen-based activity. Certain AAC device evaluations must be done in person. If your child is in one of those groups you will be told at the consultation, and helped to find the right person instead.
Privacy
Sessions run on a HIPAA-compliant platform, and the contact form runs through SimplePractice, so what you write goes to the practice rather than through this website. There is no online scheduling here by choice: you ask for a consultation and Tasha replies personally. Sessions are not recorded unless you ask and give written permission.
Licensing, and why it matters
A speech-language pathologist must be licensed in the state where the client is physically located during the session, not where the clinician sits. TimeWise is licensed in Texas and Georgia. If your child is at a grandparent's house in another state that week, tell us, because it changes what is permitted.
